The Romanian start-up MEDIjobs attracts investments of nearly 1 million dollars

MEDIjobs opens its first office in the USA and is looking for specialists to continue its local and international development

The Romanian start-up MEDIjobs, the largest online medical recruitment platform in Romania, has attracted investment worth nearly USD 1 million. After obtaining its first angel funding last year, through which doctor Wargha Enayati joined MEDIjobs’ shareholding, the company has recently gone through a new major funding phase, which attracted nearly USD 900,000 from the Gapminder VC investment fund and other business angels investors.

2019 has been a very good year so far, starting with the participation in the Techstars Berlin accelerator. It is a year in which we set ourselves and managed to internationalize the MEDIjobs platform. It is a crucial moment in the development of the company and we are extremely pleased to have Gapminder with us. Through this investment we will continue to expand our presence in Romania, where we work with nearly 200 medical clinics and hospitals, but also the operations at international level. We have big plans in the next 12 months, so we are actively looking for new, passionate colleagues, in software development, marketing and sales teams in Bucharest headquarters, to help us make MEDIjobs another successful Romanian company at international level,” says Catrinel Hagivreta, co-founder and CEO of MEDIjobs.

„The lack of applicants for certain key positions or applications that do not resemble to the job profile are some of the biggest challenges employers, but especially recruiters, are faced with. As the demand for candidates remains very high, we have developed intelligent algorithms to automate the selection and identification of the most suitable employee for the job. We have also reversed the recruitment process in the sense that once they identify a candidate that meets their requirements, companies are addressing him directly, they can send a personalized offer or other additional requests. Data show that companies manage to fill vacancies five times faster through our platform than through using other recruitment platforms,” states George Hagivreta, co-founder and COO of MEDIjobs.

Therefore, MEDIjobs reaches a new level of development and extends its team of specialists both in Romania and at international level. Thus, MEDIjobs opened this July its first office in the United States of America. The company aims to strengthen its presence on the East Coast of America and as of next year will also explore the possibility of expanding in other states on the American continent. The New York based office already has 63 clients which respond to over 1,000 recruitment needs per year.

„MEDIjobs addresses the fastest growing employment market through best in class team and technology. We are committed to support MEDIjobs on a long term basis and we are confident that the company will be among the most successful of our portfolio,” says Inti Paolucci, Partner, Gapminder VC.

Currently, MEDIjobs registers almost 30,000 unique users on the platform, as well as a customer retention rate of 80%.

Dr. Wargha Enayati: „25 years of experience in the field of medical services become relevant when you are faced with new businesses, and regarding MEDIjobs I’ve seen from the beginning that I can be an Angel Investor to support them set up what has become the biggest medical recruitment platform in Romania. Especially since I use MEDIjobs’s services for the companies in the group, as any other employer on the market: Intermedicas (second opinion and concierge medicine clinic), community medical clinics within the Foundation, MedicHub and its partner MediaMed Publicis (two communication and medical marketing companies), Docbook (another start-up) but, mostly, the platform we will use as of next year to hire almost 400 doctors and medical staff who will work for Enayati Medical City, the largest medical complex developed through a public private partnership since 1989 and dedicated to elderly, which also includes an oncology hospital.”
