Profi currently not for sale

PROFI, the second largest retail network in Romania is currently not for sale

“I understand that selling PROFI can be an attractive story but I assure you in the strongest terms that no such discussions are being conducted with Biedronka or any other potential buyer,” said PROFI Rom Food Director General Pawel Musial. “The same newspaper claimed that such discussions were also conducted one year ago with the same Polish network, but we firmly declare that this never happened.”

Enterprise Investors (EI) owns PROFI 100% and as far as the retail network is concerned it is not pursuing a fast buy, fast sell policy; the network is going to stay for a long time in the EI portfolio, as EI is not willing to sell a fast growing, profitable business.  So far no preparations are being made to sell the company in any planned time frame.

In 2015, PROFI inaugurated 65 stores, growing to be Romania’s second largest retail network with 207 stores and more than 5000 employees. Plans for this year aim at maintaining a similar growth rate as last year.
