According to AGERPRES, the data released on Tuesday by the Bitdefender statement release show that the Bitdefender cybersecurity specialists have discovered a vulnerability in the authentication mechanism of Facebook, which allowed attackers to steal the identity of certain Internet users and to access their online accounts where they can connect through the social network.
"Using this vulnerability in the login system via Facebook, the attackers can access most online accounts that allow authentication of users with this social network. That means attackers can make payments on behalf of users on websites, online stores, for example" said Catalin Cosoi, Chief Security Strategist, Bitdefender.
