The year 2022 started with good news for the real estate market in Romania. The 5% VAT rate applies from this year for more expensive homes of 450,000 lei, the ceiling being increased to 700,000 lei. In order to benefit from the new ceiling, however, a new condition has been introduced: the reduced VAT rate will be applied for a single purchase in this price range, while, in the case of homes cheaper than 450,000 lei, they can be made several purchases with a 5% share.
