COSMOTE Romania, member of the COSMOTE Group, launched its commercial operations in Romania in December 2005, with the aim of making mobile telephony accessible to all Romanians. The main shareholders of COSMOTE Romania are COSMOTE Greece (70% ownership) and Romtelecom (30% ownership). COSMOTE Group successfully operates in five countries in South Eastern Europe, namely Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania and FYROM, through its companies COSMOTE Greece, COSMOTE Romania, GLOBUL, AMC and COSMOFON respectively. Sharing COSMOTE Group's corporate philosophy, COSMOTE Romania brings to the local market the Group's vision, creativity, commitment and customer-centric philosophy. From the very beginning of its commercial operations, COSMOTE Romania undertook an ambitious network rollout plan as well as a customer-centric commercial strategy in order to make quality mobile telecommunications services accessible to all. By the end of 2007, the COSMOTE network coverage will be similar to the one provided by other mobile operators.
