Easter has become an increasingly important event for employers who want to provide extra-salary benefits to employees, 74% of the companies that provide gift vouchers giving them both on Christmas and Easter, according to data gather by Up Romania for year 2018. Of the client companies that surprised employees with gift vouchers for Easter 2018, 52% were SMEs.
As a location, the companies in Bucharest-Ilfov, Cluj and Brasov are among the top beneficiaries of this benefit. In recent years, Easter gift voucher sales have risen steadily by 10% each year.

"Up Cadou" vouchers come with financial benefits for both the employer and the employees because they are exempt from social contributions and income tax up to 150 lei per person. They can be granted to both employees and their minor children and are required to be used by December 31, 2019.
Gift vouchers offered to workers on holiday are personalized, like table tickets, with the employee's name and employee's CNP, in accordance with Law no. 165/2018.
At the same time, the employer has the option of personalizing vouchers with the company logo and can address a holiday celebration to all employees through Up Cadou vouchers. The project started on Christmas, when Up Romania supported the donation of 6,000 warm meals, and continues also on Easter. For every company that orders gift vouchers from 01.04.2019 to 30.04.2019, Up Romania directs the money for a hot meal, prepared by the Association "A Warm Meal". The beneficiaries of the meals are deprived persons from Adjud, Bistrita, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Satu Mare and Zalau.
