More than 500 business people participated in the third edition of Smart Alliance Innovation SUMMIT, the largest event dedicated to Romanian innovation

On Tuesday, 6 November 2018, representatives of the business environment, international associations, IT specialists, trade and embassy chambers and academics met at the third edition of the SMART ALLIANCE INNOVATION SUMMIT.

Under the auspices of the Centenary of Romania, the event brought together over 500 participants around the topic "Romanian Innovation Engine".

The success of the event, which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bucharest, was attended by more than 40 different industries, the quality of the presentations, and not the innovations brought to the discussion, both from partners and especially from the members.

In the three sections of SUMMIT there were 23 local and international speakers, leaders in their field, who presented some of the most innovative technological solutions in Romania.

Two of the panels discussed some of the most relevant aspects of the ITC sector in Romania: Reshape the Future of Romanian R & D, which included entrepreneurs, innovation people and academics and Romanian Innovation Engine, attended by some of the most prolific innovators, members of the cluster.

"The Romanian innovation was again put under the spotlight, this year's edition being different due to the increased attention given to the creation of a conducive environment for networking.
So, we created Smart B2B MeetPoint, which summed up 195 minutes of intense and applied networking.Besides the innovative technologies that our members and partners presented, the participants also came into contact with promoters of the Romanian business abroad - the chambers of commerce and the embassies - with whom we managed to create one of the best events business for the Romanian business environment, " said Gabriel MUNTEANU, President of Smart Alliance - Innovation Technology Cluster.

In the opening, Emanuela MODORAN, CEO of Smart Alliance - Innovation Technology Cluster and Torkild FOLLAUG, CEO of IKT Telemark, unveiled for the first time an online platform linking SMEs, research and technology transfer centers and international partners, one of the most important projects for international matchmaking.

Reshape the future of Romanian R&D, moderat de catre Elena UNCIULEANU, Executive Manager la Reporting Center & Founder @Tech Ventures, a fost o sectiune interactiva, unde invitatii si audienta au cautat solutii fezabile pentru crearea de centre de cercetare si inovare in domeniul ITC din Romania. "There is a lot of potential in Romania that remains untapped. Romanian start-ups certainly have the technical skills and creativity required for R & D and innovation, but they have to pay the same attention to the business issues. A solution is the introduction of measures that stimulate venture capital funds on the Romanian market, which in turn can provide financing, but also guidance on marketing and internationalization ", said Eduard BEYER, Consultant, Deloitte & Treasurer / Board Member Romanian South African Business Association.

In the general debate, cluster members presented innovative concepts and solutions already mature and, last but not least, have fully demonstrated that each has the ability to become an important piece of the engine of Romanian innovation.

The section called Smart B2B MeetPoint was run under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Romania and ROSABA and addressed those interested in concrete solutions to promote local innovation on the global market. We have been honored with the active participation of the Chambers of Commerce and their opening to innovation and collaboration.

Electrical and electronic waste has the highest global growth rate, environmental protection by active IT companies becoming a priority. As the community of environmental concerns grew and those interested in recycling started to wonder where they could do it, our natural answer was the development of a new version of the << Where We Recycle >> software with features extended to the benefit of users and those who want to be partners of the project", Andrei ORBAN, President of Environ.
