Domestic violence in Romania: 4.8% more reported cases and over 65,000 users of the Bright Sky RO application, a tool to prevent and combat the phenomenon

Between January and October 2023, at the national level, 48,368 cases of domestic violence were reported to the police, 4.8% more than the same period in 2022

• Bright Sky RO is the only free application that offers specialized assistance and support to victims of domestic violence - women, men and minors

• Over 65,000 users of the application and the website in 3 years since its launch

• Between January and October 2023, the number of protection orders increased by 7.8% to over 10,000

• "Hitting or other violences" represents 62% of all reported cases, followed by "threat" (12%)
