In order to achieve these commitments, AAylex ONE constantly implements the highest standards and best practices in the sector regarding biosecurity and animal welfare, as well as for the constant reduction of the ecological footprint of the production system.
A strategic program is the transition to green energy, from renewable sources, for self-consumption, in its own farms and factories, to increase energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of the company's activities. The program started with the implementation of the first biogas unit in the sector in Southeastern Europe and continued in recent years, with investments in photovoltaic systems, financed from own funds as well as from European funds.
The most recently implemented is the project "Sustainable, green and innovative evolution in the food industry", financed with the support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021, within the "Energy Romania Program", carried out with the support of Innovation Norway, as program operator.
The project consists of an integrated system of photovoltaic panels, with a total installed power of 997 kWp and a green energy production of approximately 1300 MWh / year, used for self-consumption in the five locations selected in the project, in Buzau, Ialomița and Constanta counties.
The project "Sustainable, green and innovative evolution in the food industry" contributes to reducing carbon emissions by 557 t CO2 equivalent / year and has an important contribution to achieving AAylex ONE's objectives of sustainable and resilient development.
